How do the Bowtech Lectric Crystals and applicator work together?

We have two applicators at present, one for the back and one for knee/elbow use. Made of durable fabric that is easy to wash, the design incorporates a pocket in which to place the crystals. The applicator is then wrapped around the joint or back and secured in place with Velcro strips. It is recommended the person wears the applicator when sleeping for maximum benefit and uses it on alternate nights. The applicator can be washed by hand after use and left to dry naturally - the crystals will dissolve in the water and are harmless. Many people report their swelling goes down after two or three applications and others have found it helps relieve and banish arthritic pain also.

Can I apply Bowtech Ease during aromatherapy?

As an aromatherapist myself, I would suggest you make up a blend in your usual way - or use three drops of Bowtech Ease to 10ml of carrier oil. Over any painful areas, such as lower back, you could apply directly from the bottle and use the 'press and release' movements recommended until absorbed.

Can Bowtech Lectric Crystals be used if a person has eczema?

It is safe to use the crystals in the case of a person with eczema as they can not cause harm to the skin. Instructions on the label suggest one tablespoon in a bath and one teaspoon for a foot or hand soak - a patch test can be carried out first if the person is concerned. If there is any sensitivity then immediately get out of the bath and rinse with clean water. Many people have found the crystals soothe itchy, dry and sensitive skin.

Do Bowtech Lectric Crystals have any contra-indications, especially for someone with high blood pressure?

There are no contra-indications for Bowtech Lectric Crystals. A person with high blood pressure would not in any case have a very hot bath or stay too long in a very hot bath and that should be common sense. The instructions on the label advise a patch test if a person has sensitive skin although the recommended amount has been tested for sensitivity - including all intimate areas of the body - and found to be beneficial and soothing.

How should I apply the Bowtech Ease to my shoulder?

Use the rollerball to apply and then press in using tips of fingers. If it is difficult to reach the precise spot then you can visit a therapist for help or ask a friend or relative to do it for you. It is important to find the exact area of pain to break down any congestion and get some relief. Once the ointment has been absorbed the skin becomes dry so no problem about getting dressed again.

How do you measure one or two drops of Bowtech Ease when using the roller-ball applicator - and is the amount critical?

Rolling over the affected area forwards once and backwards once, to cover the area of pain, should be sufficient. The product is oily and providing the area has a thin film, it is the pressing-in that is important as that helps ease congestion or calcification build-up. It only takes a couple of minutes for the oil to be absorbed and then the area is dry.

I am a practising reflexologist and have bunions forming on both feet and also a 'bunionette' on the left foot under the little toe at the top! Any help would be greatly appreciated as I don't want surgery when I'm older.

Being a reflexologist makes looking after bunions easier because we can so easily use our fingers and thumbs on the feet. If you know about the classical reflexology move where the 'press and move' along a millimetre to press again is used, rather than the light touch move, then using the Ayurvedic aromatherapy ointment called Bowtech Ease will be really helpful. It is my belief that the pressing action used in reflexology, together with this ointment is the key to breaking down any calcification that is building up to form the bunions and bunionettes.

Regular use of Bowtech Lectric Crystals in a footbath or bath is advised as the crystals contain natural ingredients such as Epsom Salts, Sodium Carbonate and Sodium Chloride which help ease any pain, provide the minerals that normalise the bone structure and help draw off fluid by assisting the lymph system.

Soaking the feet every other day (or night) will assist your body to come into balance. When you get out of the bath, gently apply a 'press and release' action with the Bowtech Ease until absorbed - two to three minutes until dry. Try to use this every day if you can and twice a day if the area is very painful.
